In 2008, Anushka Sharma was the first actress to make her debut in the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. In preparation for her screen-test, Anushka Sharma took all day. She was later signed to three films by Yash Raj Films. The film in which she appeared played a young woman who was married to a middle age man (the part Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka Sharma starred in the film "Badmash Co,' which was released in 2010. It also featured Shahid Kapoor and the actor Vir Das. It was met with mixed receptions. Anushka played a role in a film called Band Baaja Baaraat with Ranveer, where she played a Punjabi-American girl of middle class who sets up her wedding planning company. The movie received a great reception and was a huge success. Anushka was able to complete the three film contract in partnership with Yash Raj Films.
